Somewhere between Le Déjeuner sur l'Herbe (Giorgone, revisited by Manet, himself revisited by Picasso etc...) and Les Grandes Baigneuses (Cézanne, Auguste Renoir) or Jean Renoir's Partie de Campagne, Jean-Claude Bélégou' serie explores a great tradition of the history of Art: the diversion of a work received as an artistical heritage. But photography is not painting and Jean-Claude Bélégou's interest in painting is justificated by his search for materiality and naturalism. This serie is also the opportunity to confront himself to compositions of pictures with several models.
This serie is about happyness and the sensuality of flesh, light, heat and grass.
Back to mythology: The Three Graces, Pâris' Judgment, Boticelli's Spring, Appolo and Dyonisos, Matisse 's Dance, Picasso's Centaurs. A contemporary mythology.
It is shown at the Fotografisk Center of Kobenhvn (Denmark 2008-2009) and at the Pierre Brullé's gallery in Paris (2009).
