Jean-Claude Bélégou praise of love THE THINGS (2004/2005)

 

 

This is a work  of still lives composition to which are associated two selportraits. It was done over the winter 2004/2005. It is a silent and lonely work with, from times to times, signs of a close presence. I regularly come back to things around me, to the things that make the everyday life. This is the way I see reality. To me, it is not about far horizons, dreams for happy futurs. These are traps for fools. Reality does not go further than our consciousness. Plates, books, vase, the ladder ; the kettle, ektachrom rolls find their place into the square of the picture. Suddenly, they become monuments of the modest and fragile everyday life from which nothing will survive after us.

Colors digital, print with archival inks 60 x 60 cm printed by the artist, limited editions, delivered matte, numbered and signed (high-quality scanning of 120 film format 6x6 cm Ektachrome).
