The silence of stagnant waters, ponds, lakes is opposed muffled rustling of running waters. Sometimes dragging their winter cartage of dead branches and foliage, swollen with rain and broken clouds, flooding and ravaging their emaciated banks, exhaling all around them an icy coldness to the bone, transparent like the crystal of their torrential flow, draining their bottom constantly that no vegetation settles in their bed nor on the surface of it, blurred mirror of faded skies, Sometimes enchanting mirror of bucolic horizons where the grasses of the sands mingle with the reflections of the banks.
